Alexandra L. Simocko

Senior Associate

Hailing from Southern California and currently based primarily in New Hampshire since 2021, Alex was drawn to family law because she wanted to make the experience better for children and families. She knows this is a tough process because she was the child of a contentious California divorce and has been divorced herself.

She graduated from El Modena High School in Southern California. Prior to her high school graduation, Alex joined the United States Navy delayed entry program, and was recruited into the Naval Nuclear Power program. She departed for Navy Boot Camp in November 2001, spending two years in the Naval Nuclear Power educational pipeline and four subsequent years working the Reactor Department onboard the USS Nimitz, including deployment to the Arabian Gulf. Her specialty was chemistry and radiological controls for the ship’s two onboard nuclear reactors.

After completing her naval service, Alex earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology cum laude from the University of Washington in 2012. She obtained her juris doctorate degree cum laude from the University of New Mexico in 2016. In law school she worked on the Tribal Law Journal, was a fellow with the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, and received a CALI award as the top student in children’s law.

Professionally, Alex is dedicated to staying ahead of the curve with legal knowledge by attending as many trainings as she can, and helping families think outside the box to find more collaborative methods of handling conflict. She is an experienced litigator who is taking that experience and helping families pivot to where they have more control of their own case goals and outcomes.

Outside of the courtroom, Alex is an avid equestrian, fitness enthusiast, and traveler. She also is very involved in her town, working at elections, and sitting as an appointed member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment. She and her husband enjoy exploring New England and beyond, trying different restaurants, breweries, and trails along the way.
